TRADING STRATEGY
Spotradar is an algorithmic trading model that generates definitive buy and sell signals in FX markets based on proprietary indicators. Following training on historical data up to February 2004, the model was shown unseen data for March to early September 2004. Thereafter minor adjustments and training were conducted before live trading began in January 2005 in EURUSD. Live trading results in GBPUSD were recorded since November 2006. The model trades only in cash FX for EURUSD and GBPUSD, other pairings are planned for the future. The model typically looks for a 50-pip profit against a 30 to 50-pip adjusting stop loss. These levels are determined by the model at the start of each new trading week. Predefined parameters give the model a cautious stance overall, and there are typically just 1-2 trades per day. To cut down risk, the model closes positions on Friday night before the NY close, and the first trade in any week is the next signaled trade.
